Allie Smith, LMT
Allie Smith is a licensed massage therapist in Rhode Island and New Hampshire. She studied at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA. Her professional training includes Myofascial Release Massage, cupping, and Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains. Allie is a certified Level 2 Reiki practitioner. She is also a professional dancer and a recreational rock climber, both of which inform her massage practice.
Allie’s strength is recognizing that each body needs to be listened to – no two instances of pain, tension or dysfunction are exactly the same. She specializes in myofascial release, and has developed her own style to accommodate what the body needs on any given day. Massage facilitates improved range of motion, tissue hydration, as well as helping break up scar tissue that inhibits your body’s ability to move. The schedule is currently open for massage on Mondays from 1:30 – 6:30 pm. Book online or give Allie a call! We can’t wait to work with you!
The body often requires a sense of curiosity to find out what it needs to heal. In this massage, we explore different modalities to develop a treatment that feels effective and enjoyable for you. Techniques can include trigger point work, targeted myofascial strokes, cupping and/or scraping. Pressure is generally medium – deep, with great attention to detail.
There can be a host of reasons that our bodies feel like they won’t cooperate with us. Our myofascial massage starts with an assessment of the places you feel restricted and uses active joint movements to help release tension in a holistic way. Be prepared to feel invigorated and open!
Reiki Energy Work
Sometimes we can feel out of sorts, but a massage might be too much stimulation for our stressed minds or overworked bodies. Reiki can soothe our spirits and bring lightness into our bodies. Our style is a hands-on practice, though clients remain clothed on the table.
